Trademarks Recalled by Stratford Care Inc.

The maker of Omega-3 supplements for dogs and cats sold under several brand names is recalling some products over concerns they may have dangerously high levels of vitamin A, according to a company recall released by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.

Florida-based Stratford Care Inc. said the voluntary recall came in response to a single report of a dog exhibiting symptoms of vitamin A toxicity.

Ingesting high levels can lead to health problems depending on the vitamin A level and the duration of exposure, the company said in its recall. Vitamin A toxicity can include general malaise, anorexia, nausea, peeling skin, weakness, tremors, seizures, paralysis, and death.
